Ground rules
Sharp about the problem. Fair to the people.
These are the standards we are building into Landlord Hell before stories and forum posts open.
Share firsthand experiences
Describe what you saw, received, requested, or did. Say when something is your interpretation or remains unresolved. Stories are personal accounts and are not independently verified.
Protect privacy
- Do not post exact addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, account numbers, access codes, or private documents.
- Do not identify children, neighbors, staff, or other private people without a clear and necessary reason.
- Remove faces, license plates, mail, and apartment numbers from photos.
No targeting or unsupported accusations
No doxxing, threats, slurs, targeted harassment, calls to confront someone, or unsupported criminal accusations. Critique documented conduct and policies, not private identity.
Keep urgent situations grounded
Do not encourage people to ignore notices, withhold rent, or take a step that depends on local law without reliable, location-specific sources. Point people to qualified local help when they need individual advice.
Moderation and reporting
Human review, report and appeal paths, and a published contact for urgent privacy or safety concerns will be in place before public submissions open.
